Craig Perkins' music is a gift from God. Not in some broad or general way, but rather a literal answer to prayer. Almost as if from thin air, Craig emerges from a pain-filled past having spent his early years in
the Oxford Orphanage in North Carolina. Now he has developed into a Christian musician whose desire is to express
healing for broken hearts through his music.
Craig weaves together songs that offer hope and heralds a message of restoration.
Craig's journey from rejection and abuse began more as a whisper than a bang. One of four children in his native Galesburg, IL, Craig did not come from a musical family
nor were his abilities discovered until he was nearly 21 years old. While it was acknowledged on
occasion that little Craig had a nice voice, no one thought or said much about it. There were many mornings when Craig would rise early as a
young child and sing under the door of his parents' bedroom which was often more of an annoyance than a blessing. But, in remembering the sunrise serenades, Craig's mother recalls his uncanny ability to retain the entire text and melody of numerous songs. The
musical gift from God was there even before Craig knew it!
After his conversion while attending a Methodist College in North Carolina in early 1980,
Craig embarked on a difficult journey of recovery from drug and alcohol abuse.
Over time, and as healing came, he felt called to study and prepare for the ministry by attending first, Oral Roberts University and then Rhema Bible Training Center
several years later. It was at Rhema and while working as a pianist in a local church in Tulsa, Oklahoma where
Craig began to explore his musical development and experience how God would move
on people's hearts through his songs. He had been deeply impacted by the music of the late Keith Green and was inspired to begin writing his own heart-hitting
songs from that point on.
Craig soon discovered that writing music was the tool he needed to bring his message of healing and restoration to hurting people.
Having found his God-given abilities rising from within, Craig has since penned or collaborated to write
numerous songs which have touched the very core of men's hearts drawing them closer to God. There is a depth in Craig's music that will
call to your heart as he sings songs he has composed during his personal journey through a broken past. In 1985, Father's Heart Ministry was born
from Craig's passion to express God's heart through music and the scriptures assisting broken people in walking through doorways of healing.
Please consider inviting Father's Heart Ministry to your church or outreach event. Doing so will open
refreshing doorways of healing for many.
Craig now resides in Kirksville, Missouri with his wife Susie of 26 years and
his two sons Zachary (Z-Bo) 20 and Jeremy (PJ) 15. Craig is not in a full-time
traveling role at this time but is delighted to accept invitations to travel as
directed by the Lord. Please contact Craig using hearttouchmusic@yahoo.com

What Is A Psalmist?
A Psalmist hears and conveys the heart of God to people while employing the tools of music. He is a "curer" of souls and ministers comfort, refreshing and causes evil spirits to flee. A scriptural example of a psalmist is found in I Samuel 16:21 (KJV) -
"And David came to Saul, and stood before him: and he loved him greatly; and he became his armor bearer. And Saul sent to Jesse, saying, Let David, I pray thee, stand before me; for he hath found favor in my sight. And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him."
